new pain 2 weeks post op

Tomorrow marks 2 weeks since my sah. I am in graduate school, and returned to classes today, as a new semester started. I only had two classes, 1 hour each, then returned home. I am experiencing new pain, a heaviness in my hips and across the pubic bone. Should I call my doctor?

I would call your doctor. Sounds like you perhaps aren't quite ready to tackle life by horns just yet. As I'm reminded on this site regularly - you just had major surgery. Add that you have an abdominal scar - you really have to be careful. New pains are always good to get checked out by the doctor. Much better to be safe and careful. Let us know what you hear. I will be 3 weeks post op tomorrow and my body lets me know if I have overdone it. I am back in pain of some kind if I do more than I should be right now. Always good to check with the doctor (I did the same today), but it sounds like you're doing a lot for no longer than you've had surgery. I'd be worried about how much your books weigh as well. I couldn't sit in a hard chair for an hour at this point even if I had to. I hope your pain gets better soon.
