Gas anyone?

Okay gals - I am a pre-op princess - getting ready to go on the 18th & boy oh boy, I already have gas - it doesn't matter how little I eat or what I eat, my body is making up a whole lot of gas (yep, some of it isn't very pretty & some is noisy, too & catches me off guard); do you reckon I should try the Gas-X now? I guess I am a bit concerned that my fibroids could be interfering with my bowels or some such thing. I have talked with the gyn & he is completely aware of my concerns, but he reckons there isn't anything to be concerned about per ultrasound. Do you think it could be nerves, too?
Love to hear your thoughts....pwg

Gas anyone?

I ran into this before my surgery. I think a lot of it for me was nerves and stress. I'd ask your Dr about the Gas-X before I took it but you might also try Peppermint tea (not my fav pre-op but became a staple for about a week after).

I'll know next week if my bowel issues (minor) were from the fibroids pressing (like we thought) or because of the endo we didn't know about (doesn't show on US).

Best of luck with your surgery.

Gas anyone?

I would say it's nerves/stress too. We can't under-estimate what our body will do when it's stressed! Hopefully the "movement" you have now will continue after surgery and not build up on you!

Gas anyone?

I'm going into 4 weeks after surgery and still have gas - most embarassing moment was walking with DS earlier this week and let loose because I cannot control it - around the neighborhood with people around - anyway, my DS says, do you hear that dog, there's a dog hurt (I was trying to keep it quiet) anyway, kept trying to pull him away and next thing I know there's more people looking for this "dog" that is whimpering and whinning - OH SHOOT ME NOW - son said latter I did the right thing by NOT annoucing that I was the one and just saying well, it must not be too hurt, I don't hear it anymore (hehehehehe).... he said he would have died.... if your MD lets you - take the over the counter!!!!
