Re: Avoiding the "Sickies" in my house!

I wouldn't take anything you normally wouldn't take because of the anestesia some of those herbal remedies might make you have a reaction to something. I can tell you I was fighting a sinus drainage and went in anyways and came out coughing really hard and have had a cold for the last 11 days now. Some I think is because I had a reaction to the pain meds post op in recovery and started itching and coughing and wheezing. Once they changed my pain meds I stopped itching and wheezing but had a cold and OMG has it hurt to cough with an incision like this. So what ever you do don't go in for the surgery if you so much as have a sniffle because it's not good your body can't defend it'self when it's sick after a surgery like this. I also ran a fever after surgery as well and it was all a cold coming on.

Thanks,
Lisa

Re: Avoiding the "Sickies" in my house!

Oh my goodness Coopels, OUCH!
I got the clearance on everything before taking. I didn't take herbal anything, just vitamin C and Zinc. Was feeling pretty worn on Friday and have a history of bronchitis, so called the primary care for the Z-pack and I think I beat this!

Today I am relatively symptom free and just hope it lasts. Definitely don't want to be coughing post op! I am ready to postpone if needed.

Thank you for everything Lisa!

I finally after 3 weeks got an antibiotic as my general doc thinks I picked up a bug from the hospital. Taking it. Still coughing and chest tightness with drainage. Hoping it's gone soon!!
