My third day home from the hostipal I am very sore in alot of pain. Been taking vicodin and motrin every 4 hrs for pain and add ms contin when I can't stand the pain. I have been doing alot of walking like they told me to . I am fine when standing up and walking ,once I sit and get myself out of bed it's excruicating. I have been sleeping with a pillow on top of my belly. I went to the uro yesterday for a follow up appt. it looks like I have a uti from the cathter from surgery. where they cut me open is all bruised. my left hand hurts like shocks did this ever since I woke up from surgery I am going to the fp next week ask him to check it it is mainly in my thumb.

I'm sorry to hear you are in so much pain! I assume that you are being treated for the UTI. Hopefully, once that gets resolved you will be feeling a lot better.
Hang in there. Things will get better. I will be thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way.

The key for me has been to rest rest rest---listen to how your body feels---if you are in pain, try to sleep and rest (but be sure to drink a lot of fluids!). Tthey may be telling you to walk etc and some is definitely good but do not overdo it. If you're drinking a lot fo fluids, you will have to get up and go to the bathroom a fair amount anyway, esp with that uti, so that should be enough exercise for a princess just home from the castle! You've had MAJOR trauma to your body and should take it as easy as possible---treat yourself right YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CHANCE TO HEAL WELL as the saying on here goes...
I hope you feel a whole lot better very soon---hugs---Anne

Glad your home. I seen on your profile you have left your ovaries. That's great news. I thought somewhere I read you only had 1 to begin with and they removed the second this week. I bet your relieved that you still have your natural hormone. Sending extra care to you know during your recovery.

pain is worse in the early evening

I am 10 days after surgery for TAH/ cervix gone ovaries stayed.
I feel pretty good all day, however around 5 or 6 pm, incision starts to pull, and ache, and inside stomach also. I've noticed the incision feels hard this week, should I be putting any lotion on it or doing anything in particular so it will heal smoother ?
how are the rest of the 1.5 weekers doing?
