How long until surgery?

My Dr's office is closed this week & after getting a second opinion I have decided to have the surgery done. I will be calling Monday to set up my surgery. Not sure if anyone can help here but I was wondering how long from the decision, through appointments & to the actual surgery most had. I was originally thinking the beginning of December but now am hoping for sooner. Does this sound too extreme for me to think I can get it done in this time?

I called my OB/GYN in the third week of October, and made my appointment for Nov. 19th. I'm not looking at anything immediately dangerous, and I had/have a ton of stuff I want to get done, so I was happy with the time frame.

Thank you! I too am not looking at immediate danger just years of pain & such that has gotten worse as well as cysts on my ovaries.

My surgery was scheduled last Friday (11/5) for Dec. 14th.

So it looks like I may still have a little while to wait then huh. I have been taking Darvocet on a daily basis for 6 weeks already just to make it through the day. By evening I am in tears from the pain & I just hope I won't have too long of a wait. Now I wish I went to a larger practice so I could have maybe scheduled with a different Dr. My Dr has a private office & he is the only Dr there so when he takes a vacation the whole office is closed. I have such anxiety waiting for Monday.

Just wanted to update & say my preop appt is Monday, November 22nd & surgery is on the 29th.

Now to get prepared the best I can.

I'm sorry you are in so much pain! I'm starting to feel all the pain now, too, since I've been on Celebrex, and I had to stop taking it last week.

I've been trying to work out to lessen my recovery period, and I created a few projects to keep myself busy. Freezing meals, carpet cleaning, cleaning out the car for my mom when she's here to help take care of me.

It really does make the time go faster! (((gentle hugs)))

I met my Gyn one Monday & had the surgery the next Monday.

Thank you both! I feel relieved somewhat now that I know there is an end in sight. Now I pray all goes well & I can recover & have the pain gone or at the very least lessened. I am trying to keep busy by doing some holiday baking & getting some organizing done. Also by doing some research to hopefully help me prepare.
