Seeking sisterly advice

OK girls, I need some sisterly advice here. DH and I have never had to use personal lube before. We've tried being intimate a whole 2 times since being cleared by the doctor, but both times were cut short by pain/friction. The package directions on KY don't get specific on how or exactly where to apply the product, so I don't even know if we've used it properly. Any words of advice or recommendations?

I have used a "dollop" of lube at the entrance to the vagina. Sometimes it helps to put a bit on the tip of hubby's penis. Just make sure that the "area" is slippery any place there would be friction.

Apply liberally to the vagina and penis and if things still don't feel right re-apply! You will learn how much and where soon enough.

Also, maybe KY isn't right for you & you should try some other lube.

I like to put a dollop in the vaginal entrance, and also a small amount around the outer area, including the clitoris. You can then try this, and if it feels to dry or frictiony, you can put more on the penis. Keep in mind, if your intercourse goes "long", the lube can "gum" up after awhile, and you may need to use more.

Just don't try His and Hers KY. You will both run screaming to the bathroom, as discussed in a post I had recently. ( I'm the one with all the sex issues. )
It has menthol and at first has a cool sensation, and then a hot one. I don't care for heat.

But what we do is apply it all over his penis. It seems to get things moving.

I highly recommend Astroglide if KY doesn't work for you. It seems to last longer for us.

Yes, astroglide doesn't get as gummy. I like it much better.

All these lubricants are water soluble. They "gum-up" because the water starts to evaporate. Applying more lube works, but you can get quite a build up. Try using a spray bottle of warm water set to mist. No more gumming up or stopping the action to apply more messy lubricant. Just spritz & continue. You can spritz with more very time you start to feel any drag.
