my libido is back

I've had a pretty good libido, so I don't know if this is an increase or anything, but it's really strong right now. I'm about three weeks post op. UGH!!! I'm thinking of trying outercourse with my fiance soon...*blush*

Is anyone else feeling frustrated?

an increase of libido is normal after surgery. theres some information about it here somewhere on the site.

and make sure you get your doctors clearance before you try intercourse, or outercourse. some doctors want complete pelvic rest.

I've been having 'outercourse' with myself* from about 4 days post-op - I just wanted to check my clitoris functionality hadn't changed. It appears not to have.

*Fiancé and I are LDR at moment

Mind you, you and I have different circumstances vis-a-vis the ovaries - but yeah, I have been rather 'high needs' for the last 2 weeks and looking after that hasn't seemed to do me any harm at all. Just remember slow and steady wins the race.

As mentioned check with your Dr. Many Drs want complete pelvic rest and outercourse can cause an increase in blood to the area which could put strain on stitches.

And unfortunately an increased libido soon after the operation is quite common, however that doesn't always mean it will stick around. I hope it does for you.

agreeing with the others....increased libido is very common, and thankfully for me it has stayed increased, even a year later...makes for one happy hubby! ;-) ...

But do check with your doctor before attempting anything, just to be on the safe side.

I don't have my ovaries, so my libido was fairly non-existent when we were cleared for sex 6-8 weeks after my hysterectomy.

I am pleased to say that my libido is back!

Mine is definately back! I'm 5 1/2 weeks post op. Dr told me to wait until 7. I got the all clear for everything except sex at 5 weeks. Prior to surgery I was so anemic. Zero interest. Now I feel so great and can't wait. It will be a long 11 days. Lol

My libido has been MIA for months.

In the week and a half since surgery, I've had one sexy dream... but absolutely zero libido while awake. Not that it matters, I guess, since I'm currently single and sure as hell not looking to meet someone until I'm good and healed. But it would be nice to know that part of me hasn't just died. I mean, I'm only 46.

Mine was extremely high between 4 - 9 weeks post op. Now it's completely gone and I fear it's gone forever. This was the main thing I was concerned going into this as my hysterectomy was elective. It's also causing some major tension in my marriage.
