Broken tailbone...

2 weeks before my 14 year old daughter was born, I fell on a frosty porch and fractured my dear sweet tailbone!
It was just starting to heal when I had her vaginally and it re-broke. I had to sit on a donut pillow for 2 YEARS and still cant lay flat on my back for long at a time.
Anyway...I had a TAH 12 days ago and my Dr. said that when he got in there, he found my tailbone fused in with my uterus so he had to cut it all away!!(my mind cant or wont wrap around all this) I have been having tremendous low back pain all theses years and it seems to be worse after my surgery. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced anything like this.Thanks so much!

Ouch! I have not been in your specific situation but we believe I cracked my tailbone on the ice several years ago as a teen (my best friend has just cracked hers and they did nothing for her at the drs so I didn't even go). In PT a few years ago, I found out mine is more angled than it is suppose to be and still causes me problems. So, I do feel for you!

I hope your back pain eases as you recover. If not, I would be asking my GYN or GP if there are other options to deal with the tailbone issue. Best wishes!
