I'm wondering if they will offer me one in the hospital or if I can. I go in on 2.3.12 to 2.6.12

Re: Shower

My surgery was very late in the afternoon, so the first morning I was just getting up and around - no shower. But the second morning, the nurse brought in towels and asked that I page them when I was intending to take my shower and again when I was finished.

Warning: you are probably not going to be able to spend a long time in the shower, even if there is a seat. Bring a 2-1 shampoo plus conditioner, if you use both. I wish I had!!

Re: Shower

I didn't have a TAH but LAVH. I was able to shower once i had Ny cath out (that was the first time I stood up). But i didn't shower till I came home. I brought a dry shampoo to the hospital with me and wet ones. In case i didn't have the energy to shower but wanted to freshen up.

Re: Shower

I think it also depends on hospital protocol. But I can't believe the nurse just left you there by yourself.

Re: Shower

they told me @ hospital i could take a shower but i was too weak so i just sponged off.i am usually really clean w/ great hygiene but even at home i would only sponge off and sit beside my bathtub for 1st 2 weeks cause they used surgical glue and i was afraid of water making this come apart.this i worried about cause dr. told me to blowdry incision site after each shower so i was afraid.but with good reason, glue did come unattached by itself @ 3weeks post.i used tight bandaides and it resealed itsself back up.
