Hi Ladies,

Okay, so let me start of by saying that my question is super embarrassing. I can feel my cheeks flushing even as a type! Hopefully I'm not besmudging this site...it's a legitimate question that I can't find an answer to.

The thing is, my doctor told me no intercourse until I get the green light from him at my follow up appointment in early June. Now, what does that mean exactly? I didn't think to ask in my morphine induced state. I'm two weeks post TAH tomorrow and even in my dreams, there's that itch that I'm not sure if I am allowed to scratch, if you know what I mean. Plainly, am I allowed to achieve orgasm via other means than penetration?

I would contact my doctor but he is away for the week. I wish I'd been more with it when he came to talk to me in the hospital. I didn't even think to ask my family doctor when I went to get the staples removed last Friday! I really didn't think I'd have the "urge" for a long time...

Many of us here have discussed spontaneous "O" in sleep. I figured if that was not problematic....well, seems that solo would be okay in any form. We've also discussed "buzzy friends". NO PENETRATION though.

Yes. I had a Davinci Hysterectomy on March 3rd. I left the ovaries and the cervix but I sure do miss my uterus. Sex is not the same. I guess I will get used to it, I have no choice, right?

Hi ladies! When my doctor discharged me from the hospitalhe specifically said no penetration but he did say "outercourse is ok though"!

I had TAH BSO and at week 2 I flied solo. Had no problems as a result. Waited for the 6 weeks for penetration and the "O" was great. I thought it was more intense than in past but it might have had something to do with the anticipation.

Salorig, I have some apprehension concerning the uterine contractions as well. I used to have wild contractions that accompanied the big "O" and I'm wondering what it will be like once I am cleared for takeoff. Mind you, afterwards I'd be in pain for days and I sure won't miss that! I read that a lot of the contraction stuff has to do with the muscles surrounding the uterus, thus one could still feel a similar sensation after a hysterectomy. Not sure if that's true or not....or if it takes time to build up those muscules??

well I had a TVH 4 weeks ago today, and last tuesday me and my husband had fun and boy oh boy did I feel better we did'nt go all the way with penetration, but today it's week 4 and we went all the way and it was great we took it slow so everything went great, some dr's say wait till 6 weeks but mine told me 4 to 6 weeks and that I would know more about when my body was ready than anyone else and yes I did, I can never remember wanting sex as bad after my children as much as I did this time, it's puzzling, well good luck and it's so worth the wait!! We can now get it any time we want to we don't have to plan our sex lives around Miss Aunt Flo anymore!!!::
