Thankgod I found this site it's been a god send helping me through this. I am 38 and have suffered from extremely heavy periods and pain for to long so my OBGYN recommended me to have surgery so no more periods I have had 2 boys through IVF so very great full for them.
I had a TLH done on the 29 April, the op went well I still have my ovaries and tubes, I ended up with an infection from
the catheter and still have a small amount of bleeding and at the end of the day I feel sore, I was told to take 4 weeks off work which did not go down to well as I had only booked 2 thinking that's all I would need!!
Not sure how long i should wait till I can lift my 16 month old etc I have had to hire a nanny due to DH shift work.

Thanks
Tweedle

Re: New

Hi tweedle and welcome! I am glad that you found this site too. I found it the day before my surgery last year. It has been such a blessing to me. I wish doctors would give us a more realistic time frame. For most two weeks is too early and even if we start feeling good at two weeks, we're not 100% and still have healing to do. Some spotting or bleeding is normal during recovery and it eventually goes away. The time frame varies from person to person. The soreness will ease day by day, little by lift. Hang in there sweetie.
I'm glad that you have help. It makes a difference. Ask your doctor about lift restrictions. Look at the hysterectomy checkpoints section. It gives you a an idea of your recovery broken down into weeks. Prayerfully things will get bettter soon

Lots of ((HUGS)) to you
