Can they do a vaginal hysterectomy if you have a yeast infection?

I supposed to have a vaginal hysterectomy but I'm also prone to yeast infections and I'm scared that I might get one close to my surgery, which is in exactly 3 weeks!

Do you think they'd do it vaginally anyway or would they just do abdominal instead?

I really don't want to do it at all but I know I need to do this (fibroids and cervical precancer).

I dont have an answer to your question as I myself am wondering if I dont get rid of my UTI before the 13th, can my TVH be done.

However, the thought that came across my mind is eat lots of yogurt, or take acidopholus pills as preventative measures. Or, does that not work? Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us. I have my pr op tomorrow and wil find out what doc says about the UTI(taking cippro for it). ~Anju

I tend to get yeast infections too. I started a year ago to eat yogurt. I eat anywhere from 1-3 a day. I have not had one yeast infection since starting the yogurt. I had a few weeks where I wasn't eating it, and I could tell one was on the way, so I got back on it and it stopped it. Yogurt is the best, at least for me in keeping that old awful yeast at bay. Try that. It will help.

what kind of yogurt do you eat? i've always heard it has to be plain for the yeast to stay away, is that true?
