TAH 8 days post hysterectomy: Pain

hi sisters, I'm 8 days post op and still have pain. Most people are telling me it's not normal to still have pain now? Am I abnormal? I don't have the same amount of pain as last week However at night and first thing in the morning I still get strong pain. Trying to take as few pain killers as possible , deep breathing and ice packs. Hope you are all healing fast 😘💐

Hi Heidi, it's a pleasure to meet you!
You are still very early into your recovery first of all. I used pain medication for 2 weeks from the date of my surgery. My doctor said that a comfortable body will heal faster and that makes sense. So in my opinion, what you are experiencing is completely normal. We are all different and this isn't a marathon. Your body has been through a lot and it is going to take nothing but time to recover.

I had my TAH on the 9th and am still taking pain medicine. I still am not comfortable enough to go without it. My pains are definitely less than they were but by no means am I pain free.

I had mine one week ago and it was more complicated and I am still in quite a bit of pain.
