LAVH: Who is doing/did your surgery- OB/GYN? general surgeon? other?

I had my TVH with A & P repair done by a urogynecologist and am so glad I did. I would recommend getting a second opinion from a urogyn physician, then see which one you have the most confidence in.

Mine was done by a team of two doctors who specialize in gynecologic oncology and minimally invasive laparoscopy surgery, and do not practice OB or routine gyn care. I will see them through this procedure and that's it.

My OB/GYN was going to do it, but like Weiser said...he may do a couple of these, but he's an OB first. I really took issue with that and sought out this alternative. SO GLAD I DID. The office I used has a very good system for taking care of women and their issues. Plus their website alone answered a lot of the questions and issues I had about my gyn doing it.

Due to the large size of my fibroid, my OB/GYN referred me to a GYN Oncologist (tumor specialists) who will perform my surgery once my date is set.

Mine was done by my OB/GYN as well.

My surgery will be done by my Gyn and assisted by another Gyn that practices with her.

mine was done by my OB/GYN with his partner assisting... i don't know about other OB/GYN dr's, but mine does 3-4 davinci hysts every tuesday, so in addition to delivering babies, he does 12-16 or more hysts a month... since he's been my dr through 2 high-risk pregnancies and has performed 6 surgeries now on me, i felt very confident in him...

My doctor who is an OB/GYN did my surgery.

My OB/GYN did mine too.....and there was the doctor that put in the catheter during the surgery....can't remember what they're called. LOL

My ob/gyn did my surgery. He has seen me through a lot and is very skilled. The other reason I stayed with him was that he practices at my hospital of choice--when you are post-op in the hospital, you hardly see the dr, so the quality of the care by the nurses and other support staff is really important.
