WANTED!! a gauge for emotions!!

Hi everyone, is anyone else having problems trying to work out people's emotions around them?like you are waiting to have surgery & no one know's how to react,so they start to act odd???

I'd love it if there existed a device that was like a tv remote,aim it at someone and it would tell what emotion they were feeling,it might help me to some how avoid people crying & wanting to hug me & then avoiding me the very next day!! i know they mean well but there driving me crazy!! & they seem to do it on my good days! & then that day turns bad!

For eg, wen't out for lunch with friends two of them had no idea what to say (god love them) so they buried their faces in their food! & the rest of them(god love them as well) ended up talking about me as if i wasn't there!

Or maybe i'm just paranoid????????????????

It really is difficult to gauge people's emotions though. I agree. If someone figures out this remote gauge thingy, let me know!

I'm very lucky in that I work with alot of safety and health professionals who are really good at understanding people with medical issues. So I haven't had much of a problem here. My family has also been great.

if you're not sure what someone's feeling, JUST ASK them! It might freak them out a bit when you say "so, are you sitting there ignoring me because you're scared you're going to make me cry?"
