3 weeks post hysterectomy (1/21) - why am I not losing weight?

My scale hasn't moved, but my body shape has changed. Pants that used to stay up just fine (only worn a few hours at a time for right now), definitely need a belt as they fall down.

Waiting for my doc's release on Monday to start exercising and paring some of this down.

I wasn't getting much exercise so I knew I didn't need many calories. yes, healthy foods for healing but minimal calories. I stuck with fruit, vegetables and simple lowfat foods, no sugar, no flour, none of the cookies, ice cream and "comfort foods" people brought me. I know it sounds harsh but part of the reason for the weight gain women experience is that the metabolism slows down, meaning less calories are needed and bmr is lower than we expect.
