TLH Week 5 Post Hysterectomy - belly button issues

Overall I have been doing very well in the last last week, yet the incision from the belly button Laparoscopic procedure is not healing. Some of this is due to the severe allergic reaction I experienced during the first two weeks post-surgery.
I have an open belly button wound where the scab will not close the incision area. I have tried several things and nothing seems to work, so I have stopped the permitted showers to allow it to dry & maybe close (yesterday); the showers (even with covered bandages) causes it to get wet enough to open the wound again.
The area is very sore, but nothing to worry about yet, I go back for my 6 week check-up next week & will ask about it then, but I am worried that by next week I will not be able to go back to work wearing pants because it will hit right where the belly area is.
I work in public safety so heavy uniforms are not going to be fun by any means!!
I know enough to monitor about fever, hot area of belly, etc. So I don't think I have a problem but will keep an eye on it nevertheless. All other incisions from the Laparoscopic procedure (5 incisions) are all healed well.
