Having some post-op difficulties

I just had my hysterectomy on Tuesday. I had a total vaginal. I had to spend an extra day in the hospital. The day I was released I threw up the entire night. I have been having night sweats and extreme pain. I all but lost my appetite, so taking my pain meds on an empty stomach causes more pain. Is this normal? The doctor called in some nausea meds which seems to be working, but still suffering. Any advise?

I threw up the 1st 2 nights in the hospital. I didn't feel like eating anything even when I came home from the hospital It took a few weeks before my appetite came back. I was not on nausea meds when I came home tho. I sorry you are having a hard time with nausea.

I too felt myself becoming nauseated first night in hospital. Luckily my doc was ready for this. I've been on anti-nausea meds every since. The only thing I've wanted to eat where choc chip cookies and reese puffs cerea. Lol Give your doc a call. Huggsss!!

Eat crackers before taking meds. It may help with the nausea.
