TAH Bending after hysterectomy?

Is it true we aren't suppose bend ? I just read that bending was off limits for 6 weeks but I have been bending down picking things up. I don't think that was a restriction I heard from my dr

I was wondering that also. I bent down to feed my cat and wasn't sure about it.

My doctor did not prohibit bending. SAH here.

I heard we weren't meant to bend but my Dr told me just to go with how I feel. If it hurts or it's hard to do stop, but otherwise no restrictions.

My dr said it was ok, I also did it from the day I got home. If you are comfortable doing it, and careful, and your dr didn't restrict it I would think you should be fine.

I had a TAH, I was totally restricted from bending. If I really had to, I needed to use my knees and hold on to something. At any rate it was actually too painful for me to do so then. Lifting is still restricted to 30lbs though.

I would re read the discharge papers. Sometimes we may have forgot all thru verbally told us before discharge.

I bend only if needed, when I do it is not hurting. I am on total pelvic rest, can only lift 10 pounds till 6 week checkup.

I was told not to bend and indeed, my body didn't feel like bending. I stooped instead, keeping my back straight, letting my knees do the work and using furniture or walls for support. My body was okay with doing this.
