Feeling really low and tearful 7 weeks post op

Hi Sisters, Just got back from doctors and she wont sign me off for any longer from work. I had a really difficult op - taking 5 hours instead of the one. I needed 3 units of blood after the op and had a clot 4 weeks on. It'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and I haven't been able to drive yet. I still have apain when I move in my right side - usually when I tilt my pelvis up. Doc couldn't feel anything and as I said I wasn't on pain killers she couldn't see why I couldn't work again. I work in a school and although I have my own office and desk I'm rarely sitting down and run glass jewellery classes which involces lifting and cutting heavy pices of glass. She was pretty dismissive and made me feel so small for asking for more time. Sorry to rant but needed to get this off my chest.

Oh no! I am sorry. I am just over 6 wks and am not yet driving either. I cannot imagine going back to work right now. Is there anyone at your office who can help you? Ug.

Good luck and I hope you are able to work this out!

Re: Feeling really low and tearful 7 weeks post op

I'll be 7 weeks post op on Friday, I work in a supermarket as a deli assistant and there is now way my doc said I am going back until after New Year. I had Keyhole and kept my ovaries and I'm not on painkillers either. Can you go see another doc in your practice and see if you can get a 2nd opinion about being signed off for longer. It seriously sounds like you are not ready yet, physically or emotionally. Please have a word with another doc in your practice. Good luck xx

Re: Feeling really low and tearful 7 weeks post op

Sorry to hear where you are at physically with this process. Please ask for a second opinion...I'm no expert but had a much easier time surgery wise & don't feel 100% myself. I can't imagine going back to work, if you're not feeling up to it

I'm going back in new year as had complications too. I do think different countries have different attitudes. I could not cope going back now as having trouble sitting down for any period of time. Can you not see another doctor?

I agree! Maybe see another surgeon for a 2nd opinion! Ugh

Let us know how it goes!

Re: Feeling really low and tearful 7 weeks post op

Thanks ladies for your support. My family and friends are saying the same - to see another doctor - but I just don't have the fight in me at the mo. Work colleagues will be supportive I hope. Am going to try a couple of days next week and see how I get on. In my heart I know I'm not ready bu maybe it's just me being pathetic (something I've never been nor want to be). Will keep you posted and let you know how I get on xx
