5 days po

Hi, My name is Janet. My surgery was on May 16th. It was Robotic Lap. and went very well. My question is, how long should I hold the pillow to my belly? I'm no longer having much pain but I don't know if it is necessary for recovery. I could call my doctor but felt this would be the place to ask. I have a feeling there are NO stupid questions here:-)

Re: 5 days po

I had a mini pillow pet and he was my best friend for some time.It brought a great deal of comfort to me for a long time. You and your body will judge how long you need it for different purposes. At first I used it everytime I walked for several days and also in bed for protection.Eventually I didn't need it to walk , but used it for several weeks to protect my tummy in bed as well as sitting my laptop on it when I was in the recliner. I also use it in the car to protect from the seat belt.I'm at 6 weeks now and only need it in the car now.

Re: 5 days po

I hated the car for a long long time.I only went in the car the first 2 weeks for a doctor appt ad an ER visit.I didn't drive. I drove ( 5 miles) at about week 5 for the first time. THe pillow between your tummy and the seat belt is great as a passenger. I didn't use it to drive though.I figure if it is that uncomfortable I shouldn't be behind the wheel yet anyways.

Re: 5 days po

It'll be 6 weeks Wednesday and I just gave up my night pillow a few days ago. I didn't use it much for general sitting after about a week but I did for sleeping. It was kind of like a security blanket at night for when my princess doggie thought she needed to sleep beside me. I used a rolled hand towel in the car to put between me and the seat belt. Use your pillow as long as you want, there's no time limit. :-)
