Re: over doing it??¿

Maybe. I would say rest, and take stool softeners and/or a laxative. If stools are hard to pass, maybe insert a glycerin suppository to get things started. I ate very little in the days before surgery and it took several days for my colon to "wake up" from it, though I was passing gas the 2nd day after the procedure.

If the pain or lack of bm's worsens, call the doctor...

Re: over doing it??¿

I had pain before and while I was peeing for a couple of weeks. The doctor explained that the bladder is very sensitive and was irritated by all the handling and moving (plus I had bladder adhesions) so the discomfort before and while urinating was normal. As for the abdominal discomfort, you're still very recently out of surgery so it's normal to have pain/soreness, but doing too much will definitely exacerbate the pain - and could set you back in healing. Walking a little bit frequently is good for you, just don't over do it. More pain often is an indicator that it's time to rest. Here's an article on What's Allowed and a link to the Checkpoints for Weeks 1 & 2 which has good info.

Sending (((hugs)))
