Sore nipples anyone?

Hello Ladies:

I hope this isn't an embarrassing topic, but does anyone else have sore nipples? For the past week or so, my nipples are so sore, they really hurt and ache when I take my bra off at the end of the day. They feel like they did when I first became pregnant years ago (I don't know what else to compare it to). Even in the shower, the pressure from the water hurts.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Would this be around the time you would normally have had your menses?

My surgery was a TAH, and they took the ovaries too, so a little different if you kept yours, but I also had extreme nipple pain during the first two weeks after surgery. My doc said it was due to the hormone imbalance and would improve over time with my HRT. The pain seems to be gone now, and I'm just three weeks post op. I've read that sometimes your ovaries shut down after hysterectomy, so maybe your just experiencing delayed action with your hormones. Worth a call to your doc - maybe a quick conversation with the nurse would help clear it up for you.
