Re: I never thought I could say this

I just experienced something this weekend I have not experienced in years. We just got back from a waterpark hotel.
1. We randomly picked dates to go and I did not have to consult the calendar first to figure out my period.
2. I did not have to fear that I would get my period outside of my regular cycle.
3. Did not have to have the period before my period cramps that makes your paranoid that you would get your period early
I sat talking to my hubby about all of the above. I actually cried a few tears of joy when I explained to him that I felt so liberated and free......and in a swim suit. So amazing to have confidence and a sense of relief.

Almost 12 weeks post op......Happy New Year to me and the rest of you!

Re: I never thought I could say this

Haven't had a visit from Aunt Flo in over a year now. I can finally think about planning my work and vacation calendar without scheduling around when she will pop-in. That is the best. The down side is that I've gained 10 pounds that I can't seem to get rid of. I weight-lift and run. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: I never thought I could say this

Thanks for the responses. I'm glad I could give words of encouragement! It is still hard to believe that it is real.
Apobrien- as far as weight loss.....no ideas yet. I had lost 5 lbs after the surgery and now put it back on. I am going to slowly start back to working with my trainer next week, very slowly. Sure would be nice to lose those five again. Congrats on your 1 year anniversary!

Re: I never thought I could say this

I never have to secretly look at a chair when I stand up while on my period to make sure I didn't bleed thru...sigh...happy thoughts.

Re: I never thought I could say this

Great thread... I had a visit from the Old Hag the weekend before my surgery (off schedule of course). I am so happy to be done. I have not had any blood since I was wheeled into the OR. A slight brownish discharge that barely needed a pantyliner. Yeah!!!!!!!

My 18 year old daughter looked at me yesterday and said" So you will never have a period again???? I just started to laugh and asked her where she had been fpr the last month... She said " no fair I have 30 more years" I just giggled
