6 weeks post op today
HI!! I am 6 weeks today and wondering if I will ever feel better? Does anyone know? I have been in a lot of pain this week, but have done A LOT. Feel like I need to be back on pain meds again, I mean a lot of pain/pressure. How is everyone else doing??

Re: 6 weeks post op today
Hi!
Pain seems to be getting less and less but a new one has arisen today. Feeling small twinges or pain sensations in the vaginal cuff area which is the first time I have felt anything at all in that area. Nothing that requires pain meds though.
I have lot's of exhaustion especially this past week. A little worried about that.
How was you 6 week post op? Pain during that? I am worried about mine next week what to expect.
Did you have TAH? Have you gone back to work?
Hope you get to feeling better!

Re: 6 weeks post op today
Hi! I did not have a 6 week post op, but did have one at 4 weeks. He said I am healing just fine and should be feeling fine. He is an onologist and luckily, i did not end up with ovarian cancer. I just feel so much pain and pressue on what I think it my cervix and rectum. I am exhausted. I am a SAHM to a 6 and 10 yr old so have been running to 2 camps, gymnastics team practice and baseball all stars practice. I am up and running from 6am until about 8pm every day, non-stop. I honestly felt as if I have been hit by a bus today and the pain is awful...like maybe week 2 1/2 or as they ask you ever 2 hrs in the hospital...I would say about a 7.5 and I have had endo my entire life so my life was pain. I wish I had never had this done as I now feel worse. I am so, so, so tired and just feel awful. Wondering how others are 6 weeks post op? No, I did not have a TAH, I had the easy surgery...just a lapo of my uterus. Kept ovaries and cervix. this is insane. Very, very sad.

Re: 6 weeks post op today
I am six weeks and 2 days post op. I have nervy twinges occasionally. The kind that could take ya down...for about 10 seconds. The swelly belly really bothers me as it is uncomfortable and I am not used to having it. Dressing for work and going outside of the house takes more thought.
The afternoon seems worse, maybe because I am up more now. Not resting or napping as often as earlier. Of course I am better overall than in weeks past, but still. I thought I'd be back to my old self at 6 weeks and that is NOT the case. trying to regain my stamina and strength, even at a snails pace seems almost out of reach.

Re: 6 weeks post op today
Thanks for posting! I don't think I have nerve twinges, but still swelly belly and had to buy new shorts. I am not used to having that either, never been preg, but thinking this is what I may have looked like?? Dr. said I have no restrictions so I have brought six 50 lbs huge bins down from the attic to switch out kids and my winter to summer clothes. I just don't know what to do. I am getting depressed and would love to have my life back. I am sorry you seem to be at a snails pace as well giggles321.

Re: 6 weeks post op today
Hi again!
From what I have read exhaustion is pretty normal at this stage in the game but it sounds like you really have a full load which probably contributing to the fatigue and pain. Is there any way you can get some help and have some more rest?
I am not even doing anything and I feel it so I can't imagine doing as much as you are. Our bodies cannot heal properly when in pain. If you can please try and lay down, put your feet up and get some rest.
I am sorry to hear you are sad about this. I am sure once you feel better and get to heal the surgery will pay off. I know it's hard and sometimes can wreck our sanity but just try to take it easy and be patient with you poor body which went through quite a lot.
Take care!
Big hug to you!

Re: 6 weeks post op today
Thank you so much Jivan!
I know it sounds awful, but I just want to post to everyone to not do this surgery. I know this is MY story, but I feel awful and I was expecting to hear birds singing and see rainbows. Complete opposite. I was so nervous about the surgery and everyone told me I was going to feel SO MUCH better afterwards. Well...I am still waiting and nothing. I feel worse then when I had endo. ugh...sorry. Letting hubby deal with kids and I am going to go in my room and watch a movie. Thanks for your reply. I sound like a bummer, but this is so upsetting to me. Wish I could go back in time.

Re: 6 weeks post op today
I get that travln2. I have had many people say you will feel So Much better...thing is I never felt bad. I had endometrial ca. with almost no symptoms.
I believe things will get better for us all. But it is taking SO MUCH longer than I would like. I need to feel normal again.
My slack mscles are depressing me too.

Re: 6 weeks post op today
The "slack muscles"? Do you mean your stomach muscles? I feel like mine have been stretched out! Sorry you had endo cancer. That is awful. I was sick for a long time, 15 days cycles, boxes of tampons and pads a day, changing pants 3x a day...constantly bleeding. Endometreosis since I was 17... a LONG time. Went through 10 yrs infertility tx and never got preggo (thankfully) but always had painful female issues, so I was really excited when I heard how wonderful I was going to feel. HA..not the case. Giggles...what is your dr saying?

Re: 6 weeks post op today
Slack muscles in general. No working out etc...really flabby feeling. But yes! my stomach feels slack too. Dr. says I'm doing really well. :-) That I need to give my body time. And really, from what I have gathered from our sisters on this site, it's different for everyone. I do not have children either. By choice.
I hope we feel better soon.
You have had years of suffering... so, so sorry for that too. The sooner we can appreciate our new, and better (?) selves...well any day now will work for me. Really though, I'm thinking this is like a 6 months to a year project.
Tomorrow I'm going swimming. First time since surgery.
