When does pain/pressure end?

I'm nearly 7 weeks post-op for TVH, cystocele and rectocele repair - I know I've posted on other forums about continuing bladder pain, slow bladder stream and pressure - feels like a rock in my vagina just like a had before surgery! Some of you mentioned that it will go away soon, but when? At my six week checkup 5 days ago, the doctor didn't really find anything wrong. (No infection or other prolapse). She said to continue on the same medicine she'd given me for bladder spasms a month ago and see her again in two weeks. Since the checkup, the problem is worse. I return to work part-time tomorrow and I'd sure like to feel better than this. Is this normal at 7 weeks? I don't feel like going back to work, but I'm running out of leave time.

When does pain/pressure end?

Hi Smokywoman,
I'm sorry you're still struggling with this pressure. I had this too for a long time. I can't tell you when it will go away because we are all different and heal at different speeds. I will say that because of the repairs I think it takes a little longer to heal.
At seven weeks you are barely over the intitial healing time of 6 to 8 weeks and you're going to have to be very patient with your body.
I was frustrated too at about your same stage. I found I had to be careful how much I did still and really pace myself.
Are you trying to do your normal activities? If so, that could be the culprit right there. I would guess you aren't ready.
After I was cleared by my dr I started using a vaginal estrogen cream. It helps the tissues to heal and promotes natural moisture to that delicate area of your body. I don't know if this is something you need, but maybe you could ask your dr about it in case it would help.
I did find that once I hit the 7 week point I noticed big improvements each week. It took me months to feel 'normal'.
I hope you won't let discouragement defeat you. Your body will heal. Please concentrate on one day at a time and doing what will promote good health all around. The only other thing you could possibly do is ask for another opinion, if you aren't comfortable that your dr is doing everything possible. My feeling is that you just need to give it more time.
Hang in there. This too shall pass.

When does pain/pressure end?

Thanks Precious Pearl. My doctor did put me on vaginal estrogen tablets last week - maybe this will help - not taken them long enough yet to know. I have been more active the past few days but looks as though I am going to have to pace myself. Work will just be a half-day for two weeks and is mostly sedentary - it's the housework that I will probably need to be careful about.
