Stomach that feels like lumps under the skin

Can you please tell me if it is normal to feel like lumps under the skin of the stomach. My stomach is still tender but when i feel it it feels as though something is under the skin. I don't know if it is muscles. I spoke to my doctor but he is saying it doesn't sound like a gynaelogical problem it sounds like an intestinal problem but i only had this problem since surgery. (6months post op)

Re: Stomach that feels like lumps under the skin

Is is close to the incision? My DR checked my incision for things like that, said they could have been issues with my healing. If it is higher than the incision, you might check with your regular DR. That doesn't sound normal to me, but it might not be anything to worry about, either. I would check with the general DR if your surgeon thinks it is nothing from the surgery, and your general DR can refer you back if he/she thinks it is needed. Good luck!!

Re: Stomach that feels like lumps under the skin

I had my Hysterectomy Since January 2011 and one side is red, the cut itself has a wale and it feels as though it has a knot. Can't understand why after this time it is like that. It still itches but only on that one side. I had a csection before and it didn't take this long to heal. Any ideas. can it be a stitch that has been left in. I remember also that that was the side of the cut that hurt the most, it used to feel as though someone had a string tied to it and i could feel the tugging that doctor explained that sometimes when they dont have any tissue to use they used muscle and that is why it was hurting so they might have used muscle but that was a long time ago since that conversation. please help with a little information

Re: Stomach that feels like lumps under the skin

I had the daVinci Robotic Assisted Hysterectomy So my incisions were very small. I had what felt like peas under my incision sites for a few weeks after surgery and was told they were scar tissue. I kept massaging them thinking it would help. One night I was massaging one and felt a small pop. No pain. It felt like a blister popping under the skin. The 'pea' got much smaller so I gently popped the other ones and now I can barely feel them. I think it was some sort of fluid buildup. This is just my experience and don't know if that's the case with anyone else. It might be worth a call to your doctor to discuss.
