Help?

I called the doctor and I am going on Wednesday BUT in the meantime I am hoping that my sisters can help me out. My surgery was in June and now this week I am all the sudden having additional swelling and I can feel a small mass in my abdomen near where my scar is on the right side. (I did keep ovaries.) I also feel like I am water logged (I know that sounds funny...but imagine being in an oversized swim suit and I guess that might describe it) in the abdomen area. Last week I was wearing "before surgery jeans", now I am back into jeans that I wore shortly AFTER surgery even though I have lost 9 pounds. If anyone has had anything similar or can give me pointers on what to ask the doc I would really be appreciative. I know that sometimes it can be test after test simply because we did not ask or state the obvious. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!!

Singing Rabbit (Still glad every day for my surgery...just in case you are pre-op and wondering! )

Help?

It could be lots of things. Sometimes an incisional hernia can be felt -- if that's what this is, the fix is additional surgery, but it's often a day surgery or one night in the and it's pretty straightforward. A hernia is a fairly common thing, and they often don't show up for months after the initial surgery.

I hope others who have had similar situations will come along to give you more insight than I can.

There are many other things that could be going on, too. Make sure you let us know what the doctor says, OK?
