any seven weekers, like me??

I, too am a seven weeker. I'm doing just fine. I had a LAVH and BSO for fibroids and ovarian cysts with adhesions. I went back for my six week check up last week and my doctor released me. The only problem I'm having is with sleep. I take Estratest HS and my doctor said rather than give me more hormones she'd rather see me use the sleep aid (Lunesta) for a while. She feels when the estrogen kicks in better that the sleep problems may resolve. I was having terrible night sweats and the Estratest HS took care of those after only two doses.

I have been released for all activity. Today I was outside throwing frisbee for dogs and the 1 y.o. 80 lb. Lab came up behind me and knocked my legs out from under me. All of a sudden I was flat on my back. I'm fine, but twisted my ankle and am now icing it. It's always something!!

I am feeling so much better ! I went for my six week checkup on the 20th and my doctor released me. I didn't know how bad I really was until after surgery. I go back to work on January 3. (I'm a teacher.) That part is going to be hard. I have really enjoyed my time off !

any seven weekers, like me??

Okay so I am not quite 7 weeks but close enough. I got cleared today to go back to work. My only complaint is fatigue. I work in an emergency room on a 12 hour shift. I am nervous for that first shift. Does anyone else out there feel like they have been hit by a truck by the end of the day?

any seven weekers, like me??

I'm doing very well. It's the first time in my adult life that I really allowed myself to be "a Princess" and be catered to.
It's something I'm a bit reluctant to give up !!
I still feel bruised around my incision but my energy level has been much improved lately, and I'm enjoying it.
I STILL can't seem to fight that reflex to check for blood every time I use the bathroom, though !!

isnt that a funny thing...i too find myself always looking to see if "she" is here again! the weeks sure have flew by fast and im suppossed to go back to work next week, but dr gave me more time off so im going to take it. my job is all heavy lifting and i dont feel ready, besides when elses can u get time off and get paid for it. im taking advantage of it. physically i still ache but nothing major. took the kids to the mall today and wore jeans for the first time...i cant figure it out everybody says ive lost weight, but my pants are sooo tight. i think ill leave the jeans in the drawer a little longer!!

any seven weekers, like me??

I'm a seven-weeker, too. Still a bit tender and sensitive in the tummy over my incision (TAH because of severe cervical dysplasia). I'm a lot older than most of you, though, and past menopause, so no problems now with sleeping or hormonal imbalances. Been there ... and I sympathize. I just retired, so I don't have to worry about returning to work, either. I have been walking 2 - 4 miles a day for the last month or so, and yesterday for the first time used a recumbant bike for half an hour and then the ellipital machine for about 10 minutes - no adverse reactions- next step will be to try pilates again. (My jeans are too tight at the tummy, also.) Interestingly, my doctor wants me to go back on estrogen because I am short and slight - osteoporosis prone, but not there yet. He still believes estrogen is the gold standard for bone strength and health for older women and has made me do my homework. Gone are the days when we believed anything our doctor told us - and he knows I'll do the research. (We've discussed Fosomax, Evista, Actonel, Boniva, etc. etc. etc.) There is so much information available, pro and con, re use of estrogen or combinations of hormones for life-long quality of life. I quit taking estradial and prometrium a year ago because of the WIH findings. Now I read that the study is continuing (estrogen only) for post-menopausal women who have had hysterectomies. Was that ever in the media blitz about the dangers of estrogen? No. So many variables to weigh! Oops, sorry, I'm beginning rant.

I wish you all a very Happy New Year, with rapid recoveries and peaceful nights.
