2.5 weeks post hysterectomy. Need ideas to overcome boredom

Hi Everyone! I'm 2.5 weeks post op from a TVH. I was given the green light on Monday to drive and do light walking for exercise (10-15 mins at a time around the block). I normally workout at least 5 days a week and am now out of mind bored and going crazy waiting to be fully cleared at 6-8 weeks. What things did you do to past the time away? I've pretty much been up and moving since I was discharged from the hospital a day after surgery. I have good and bad days as far as the cramping pain and fatigue. I'm trying to be good and listen to not over exert myself but I miss my exercise classes a lot. Any suggestions besides the usual tv, internet surfing, and cleaning?

I hate to admit this, but while I was recovering I became addicted to candy crush.

Re: 2.5 weeks post hysterectomy. Need ideas to overcome boredom

I am so in your same boat. I was going to the gym 7 days a week before surgery. And I started back last Sunday doing very light cardio on the elliptical. I have been feeling so well, I've been walking about 3 miles a day and doing light housework, cooking, grocery shopping etc..

WELL...got my staples out yesterday and then got a strong scolding from my doctor about the risks of hernia formation from overdoing it. So today, I'm sulking and eating jelly beans...

If you find a good substitute for stress and boredom relief for an exercise junkie, please pass it on before I end up turning into a buttered popcorn flavored jelly bean!!

Yarn. Oodles of it. I'm the sort of person who can't sit still without looking for something to do with my hands. Music was a big help, but you don't say that you're a musician.

If you always wanted to learn to knit or crochet, now is the time. :-)

Re: 2.5 weeks post hysterectomy. Need ideas to overcome boredom

I tried to learn to crotchet but it just irritated me.

So I'm rotting my brain with tv. I planned to read on my nook but I can not seem to concentrate on anything long enough.

I too work full time. Thankfully my kids have had things to do. That keeps me going.

I am on Pinterest quite a bit, planning projects for when I am healed up!

I'm addicted to Roseanne and girl code. It's very sad. At least it's not Maury or Jerry springer haha!

LOL!! I'm already there. I've been playing Candy Crush for a while. I've been stuck on level 201 for over a month! 😝😌
