I just noticed after the steri strips fell off my incision is swellinng

Hi, I am 13 days post op and just noticed my incision is swollen . What can I do for this? Will ice help? I am sorry I am full of a lot of questions lately.

How swollen?? Is it red and inflamed or just a little raised?? The incision should decrease in redness as time goes on. Everyone heals differently, but I would suggest you pay a quick visit to the MD or his/her nurse just to do a "visual check". I am at 5 weeks and my incision in flat and not red at all. Pls check just to make sure there are no internal problems.

HEy Emily, mine still has that "bump" effect to it, is that what you're talking about? My steristrips came off the day after, when I showered, 2 didn't but those came off yesterday. Best to put a call into your doc (just for good measure) but remember that you also did a buit too much yesterday, this could be your body telling you that it needs to rest. All those fun things it does!
