Hysterectomy post op hernia

I had a complete hysterectomy one year ago In the last 2 weeks my doctor confirmed that a post op hernia had developed It is next to my incision scar at the upper end It's very visible and looks like a fairly big mass In 3 days I will see the original surgeon to check out my options for dealing with the hernia
I am apprehensive re more surgery and have read that recovery time ranges from 4 weeks to 2 years What can I expect? What is the range of usual post op reccovery for this?
