Almost 4 weeks post hysterectomy and SUPER itchy down there.

Omg!!! I want to just take a toothbrush to it. Now remember I was on antibiotics for 7 days to clear up the abscess I developed a week post op. I would think it was a yeast infection but all I'm having is the regular normal discharge. You know light spotting kinda brownish. And there is no scent. Thank God. Driving me nuts though. Who likes itching down there?? NO ONE EVER! Any thoughts or suggestions? Or am I just gonna have to suck it up? Lol

It sounds like you are having a yeast infection, but I am not a doctor so it would be best if you checked with one first before trying a yeast infection cure, especially since you are recently post-op and you are probably still under the nothing in the vaginal rule.

Me too! i commented the other day that I wish I could get a bottle brush and just go to town! I dont think it's a yeast infection, as I'm not prone to get them. I just think it's normal healing. I see my surgeon tomorrow for my 4 week post op visit and I'm goingto ask her about it. I'll let you know what she says.

Umm, did they shave you? I hate the itch when it starts growing back in.

Re: Almost 4week post hysterectomy and SUPER itchy down there.

Nope. No shaving here. Just super itchy inside. Kind of feels like I have a dry tampon half way in and half way out of my vagina. (sorry if that's TMI)

Thanks. Please do. I called the doctors office but may not get a response until tomorrow or the next day. Alot of the itching is on the cheeks beside the vagina and the butt almost like chaffing from the panty liners. I shaved but the itching is not from that. And yeah I still have the nothing up in there restrictions.

Sounds like a yeast infection. Call the doctor. It's an easy fix. No need to suffer.

Re: Almost 4 weeks post hysterectomy and SUPER itchy down there.

Hi, Kym--
Just got back from my 4 week follow-up appointment. I asked the doc about the itchy/scratchy feeling and she said that it's all part of the healing process. She did an exam and said I have no infection...bacterial or yeast. She also said nothing in the vagina until July! Wow! That's a long time.

I bet it's a yeast infection, which is good as such an easy fix. I had only ever had one and since surgery have had 2. Hang in there!
