I need opinions!
I just found this site with my search engine. I have just found out I'm going to have surgery the end of Nov. (I do not know yet how much is going to be removed as I have not gone for pre-op yet...that's Nov. 12th)
Anyway, for over two years I have been having very heavy cycles and they are every two weeks. Large blood clots, bloating, migraines, pain in one or both ovaries. And my husband can comment on the moodswings! My Dr. tried HRT for a year, increasing the mg about every three months. It worked temporarily but then it seems my body got used to it and would go back to the bad periods again.
My first question is since I have not really been diagnosed with anything does any of this sound familiar and what were you diagnosed with?
Secondly, even a little more personal...
A lot of times intercourse would start the bleeding which as you might guess puts a damper on the mood. If I don't bleed then
I release a lot of fluid...and I mean an excessive amount which my husband once even asked if I peeed on him...embarrassing!
I don't know what the fluid is but I've read a little bit here about repairing the bladder?? Why is that necessary? What's going on with me??
I know I will discuss this with my Dr., but November seems so far away and I'm just asking if this sounds similar to your own experiences.
Please help!!

I need opinions!
Welcome!
I don't come here all that often--I go in spurts, but this is one of the greatest sites. It was SUCH a comfort to me.
How old are you? That helps to know in order to comment on some of the problems you are having.
Your symptoms sound familiar--not to ME, but to my friends who drink lots of diet stuff. Do you? It's hidden in tons of things. I've had several friends who stopped drinking it and didn't need surgery.
BUT--assuming that's not your problem, have you asked your doctor about the 'water' you have?
My doctor said she did a bladder repair during my surgery. I didn't know I needed it, but after several big babies I probably did.
I had my complete hyster because of an ovarian growth. Everything was fine and I'm so glad it is all over! It went really well and I have absolutely no regrets.
I'll be looking forward to seeing what others have to say to you!

I need opinions!
Welcome to Hyster Sisters SMP! This is a great site with a lot of info and you're going to meet some wonderful ladies here!
My first question is why are you scheduled for surgery if there's no diagnosis so far? My GP referred me to a GYN, who did blood tests, an endometrial biopsy and ultrasound to determine that I had a fibroid. My bleeding was also very heavy and lots of clots --- I was going through a box of Super Plus tampons plus pads every couple of days in May!
Maybe you should consider a second opinion --- I can't believe you're just left wondering for the next two months!
There are a lot of ladies who have had bladder repair for a number of reasons --- do a search using the little pink button at the top right of the page.
Please keep in touch, okay?

Thanks for your reply!!
I'm 34. My Dr. says that because I've had three children she thinks that she can do a vaginal. Another question is when they do a vaginal are they able to see other threats/problems...such as tumors, ect.?

Because of my ovarian growth (and family history of reproductive cancers), they did a laparoscopy first to look at things. My doctor then took out my ovary through my abdomen to make sure it wasn't cancerous. Are they going to do a lap first with you? They can see lots with that procedure.
When my ovary came back fine, they took the rest out vaginally.
