argggg I'm getting a cold now what?

kajoli

I was told that as long as I don't have a fever or chest congestion there wasn't a problem. As of right now both of my kids have them and I am trying not to catch their colds. Good luck

argggg I'm getting a cold now what?

I know what you mean. My surgery isn't until the 28th of this month but I told hubby that I feel really strange..........and not from my female probs either.........strange like I do before I get a cold. I have been sneezing my head off and my nose is a little drippy at times and my throat is getting scratchy too. I hope that is just something passing through town.

Seriously though, a good friend of mine told me to hit the vitamin C hard. Drink lots of orange juice and get plenty of rest. I know she is right and that it will help but I am paranoid because of the surgery. I don't want to be sick!! She told me that they would still do the surgery as long as there is no chest congestion or fever.

Hope you get to feeling well soon and start hitting the fluids!!otion:

I'm TAH 9/17/ also, at 8:30am Phoenix time. I will be thinking of you. I worked from home Thur/Fri last week, because EVERYONE has a cold at work and I thought that was the last thing I need. Thanks for bringing this subject up.

argggg I'm getting a cold now what?

Boy can I relate!!!!

My surgery is the 23rd and my allergies have been crazy! So, I've become paranoid about what if my allergies are really a cold?!!

Also had to go shopping awhile ago and avoid everyone as much as possible. You just never know what kinda germs you will run into.

So, I'm washing my hands like a mad woman everytime I turn around. Orange juice and trying to get lots of rest.

Sheesh, I really do believe the pre-op worries like this and preparation are more stressful than the surgery will be!! HA!

Good luck everyone!

argggg I'm getting a cold now what?

Boy can I relate. I went to my pre-op yesterday with a cold, and my Dr. said as long as I don't have an infection, things should be fine. She didn't even take a chest x-ray. Here's what I have been doing (and I'm off to the Castle on Monday). Lots of vitamin C, Alka Selzer Plus cold meds, (have to stop taking them tomorrow, since surgery is Monday), plenty of fluids, lots of rest, throat losenges for dry throat. I am really babying myself right now for the same fear that you have....cancellation! Just take good care of yourself, and if you are lucky, it will be mild and not cause any infection at all. That's the best you can do, take care of yourself! Don't overdo between now and surgery, since your defenses will just weaken, allowing the cold to become worse...so TLC for you!
