8 days post hysterectomy: Pain and peeing

I've never posted here before... so hello all. I am 8 days post tvh. I am just curious if the pain I am.feeling is normal.. It is on my right side radiates around to my back, under rib cage down to hip bone. Sometimes it's just throbbing, other times it's like a pinch. When I urinate and am done, about 2 minutes later I have to go back again. I have also had fever on and off, last night it was 100.5 .. I have been taking the ibuprofen I was prescribed and today I am sweating it out. Any help or advice or similar stories appreciated. I hope you all are doing well.

I would call your dr. It sounds like you have a UTI. It's not uncommon. You probably need some antibiotics. Take care! Xoxo

Thanks yall for the responses. I went in to my dr today and he thinks it is a uti that also has gotten in my kidney as well. I waited too long to go I guess. But I've got meds so hopefully on the mend now.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a rough time. I had a TVH on July 30. I did have some issues with peeing right after my surgery. I demanded they take my catheter out just a few hours after surgery. They said most people don't get up and pee... I assured them I would. After they removed my catheter, I peed almost every 15-20 minutes for the whole night. But since then, I haven't had any issues. If I were you, I would contact my Dr if your fever continues. That would've worried me a little. Anyway, just wanted to say welcome! Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hugs and kisses!
Laurie
