New Here< Hyster 2/25/08

Hi all, I am new here,

I am completely amazed at all the info on this site. I am sooooooo glad that I found it.

I am having a Hysterectomy =
a (( Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy))in just over 1week. 2/25/08 & am sooooooo scared. I hope to get to know you all and am enjoying reading everyone’s post and the TONS of INFO !!!

If anyone has any infor for MY HUSBAND, that would be GREAT. I am sure there are some other post that I just haven’t found yet cause yall seem to have everything on here.

Ok< my info is: Hysterectomy in just over 1week. 2/25/08
29years old
Problems since age 13

Diagnosed with PCOS 3years ago

Diagnosed with ADENOMYOSIS 2 months ago

Sono 2weeks ago showed enlarged uterus ((due to the Adenomyosis))

It also showed 15mm of excess lining built up in uterus

& 14mm cyst on left ovary (not a big deal)

Constant pain over the last year or so Pelvic, ovaries, hips & lower back. Fatigue & exaughestion

I am also having poop problems ((I know TMI Sorry)) which they are thinking my adhesions are back as they were before my Lapo back in “05”

I don’t do well with any form for controlled hormones, ((that is for a whole diff post))

After finding my Adenomyosis, they said the only cure was a Hyster to “HOPEFULLY” only remove my uterus.

So, thanks sooooooooo much for this site and will talk with you all soon!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

to HysterSisters!

This site is amazing and the best place to be as you prepare for your surgery and recovery!

It sounds like you've been through a lot. I had my TVH because of fibroids and suspected adenomyosis. Adeno was confirmed at pathology.

There is a wealth of great information here. While reading through the posts in different forums, be sure to click on the words in the bar at the top of the page under the HysterSisters logo and the tabs at the top of the page on the right. You will find a world of information that's available and just a click of the mouse away.

Your DH will probably find MisterHysterSisters very helpful.

Welcome again! Please have a cup of tea and make yourself at home! We're glad you joined us!

s, Deb

Thanks so much for the welcome!

I did find the site for the husbands and already e-mailed it to him so that he will get it Monday at work and might have time to sit and read it.

and
I found this site a couple months ago...and it has been a life saver! I can usually find the answer to the exact question I have and save a call to the dr. But most of the time I just use it as a sounding board to vent. The ladies on here are WONDERFUL, and have a wealth of information! I hope you find all the support and information you need on here. Best wishes 2 u!

Hi Sabrina - just wanted to add another ! This site is GREAT. I actually found it 4 years ago the first time the doctor used the "h word". it freaked me out and I've been avoiding the surgery for 4 years. This year it finally dawned on me that I was allowing myself to suffer and be hostage to my uterus. When my doctor mentioned hysterectomy this time I asked him if he could do it the next day LOL.
There's alot of information in the pre-op section and the MrHysterSister site it quite interesting also.
If we don't "talk" before then, have a safe and uncomplicated surgery. I'll talk to you "on the other side" in the post op forum ! You and I are going only 5 days apart.
