Thank you for such an informative forum!
I am new. My surg is in 6 days. I am in a great deal of pain. I know this surgery is going to help when it is all over!
I was wondering if any of you had lower back pain and what you did post op that helped. Ice? Pillows? What helped you thru recovery?
Many thanks!

back pain

I had a low back ache for almost three years because my fibroids were putting pressure on nerves. Now, 3 months+ PO, I am happy to say that I have no more back pain.

Hang in there. Things are going to get better. In the meantime, try Advil (if your DR allows it) and a heating pad. (I loved to ride in my DH truck, because it had heated seats and would fit my back just perfectly!)

Good luck.

back pain

What's strange is I have had 2 pretty big back injuries (the 1st left me unable to walk for 9 months, 2nd one a car accident). I go to my chiro regularly (every 6-8 weeks) and there are times he says I am NOT out of whack but I am DYING! It will be interesting to see what kind of back pain I have or don't have after this surgery.

As far as relief - heating pad, elevate your legs and use a pillow under the lumbar section. (I'm VERY anti-Ice, even tho Chiro wanted it!) My chiro used to tell me when I was in really bad pain to think about being a cat - very methodical and slow stretches. I am hoping to use his advise during recovery. If not I'll smack him! heheheh

Good luck dear!
