Discomfort 4 days after endometrial biopsy?

I am not sure this is going in the right place -

I underwent an endometrial biopsy on Wednesday.

The biopsy was the worst - I was screaming. It's the worst thing I've ever experienced. It was about three days after the end of my period. I bled a lot from the biopsy, but the bleeding stopped by the next day.

Ever since, I keep feeling discomfort in that same general area - I feel a heavy fullness and like my womb is fluttering or twitching. It's not painful so much as uncomfortable but it sends brief shooting pains to other parts of my body (down my legs, into my feet).

What did anyone else experience after their biopsy and how long can I expect to have these symptoms?

I got the biopsy because my womb felt "big" during a pelvic exam. I have an ultrasound scheduled for the 4th. This is due to abdominal and pelvic discomfort and also periods becoming increasingly frequent (every 2 weeks) and heavy. I have been on Provera 5mg since Thursday.

Re: Discomfort 4 days after endometrial biopsy?

I had 2 and almost fainted during my first one though the actual pain was not worse than menstrual cramps. I had very little bleeding afterwards and no real discomfort. You need to call your Doctor. If they won't do anything for you seek a second opinion. This is NOT normal. Perhaps they nicked your cervix going in? You may need a D&C for a complete sample. Uterine biopsies often don't work well if they have trouble with your cervix. That happened during my second and they had to do the D&C to get a valid sample. Best Wishes. I hope one of the Docs can help you.

Re: Discomfort 4 days after endometrial biopsy?

I had some pain, cramping and bleeding after my most recent endo biopsy. And it hurt more so than before experiences. Dont know why- possibly just more sensitive this time.
You should call your doc and explain your symptoms. If mine had gone on any longer I would have called my doc.

Re: Discomfort 4 days after endometrial biopsy?

I had my biopsy just last Friday ( aug 9th). I was back to work that afternoon. I cramp every day, so it's not been out of the ordinary for me.

I would call the doc and see what they think. 4 days of pain like that seems like a lot to me! Hugs to you!

Re: Discomfort 4 days after endometrial biopsy?

Thanks so much, ladies. As it turns out, the spasm feelings have by and large gone away. I'm not in any pain right now.
