Back From Preop!

Hey sisters, I just got back from preop! Oh my goodness they took 4 viles of blood out of me and my color is still not back, those vampires!

BEST NEWS!! NO BOWEL PREP!!!!!!!! He said he changed his mind and decided I don't need to do one!!! I wanted to hug him!!

Shaving, I'm having a TAH/BSO and he has to shave me when I'm under I said what if I'm already shaved he said that was fine if I'm prepped myself.

Traffic was soo bad in Boston that we were 40 minutes late for the appt and we weren't sure if he would see us or not but luckily he did and I thanked him profusely for it!!! It took us over 2 hours to get there cause of traffic and it normally only takes 1 hour.

A guy was great, explained everything to me said the first "martini" is on the house when I get there to help me relax! The A man even said I could have a drink to help me relax and get a good night sleep the night before.

Nurse I spoke with had a hyst so she was great to talk to with her experience.

ONE THING THAT GOT ME,

Doctor told me that I would go home the next day, nurse then said he had me in for 3-4 days and I would probably not go home until at least day 2 or 3. I hope the doctor is hoping for the best but reserving a room for me for the worse,

Also he said 1 1/2 hours for the procedure the nurse said 2 1/2 hours, WHO DO YOU BELIEVE!

But he said that day I'll be up and walking and eating solid foods but the catheter will have to stay in till the next morning. 4-6 weeks recovery he said but no driving till 8 weeks and no lifting anything heavier than a phone book.

THIS IS IT! I'm nervous but I'm ready, he said I have a 90% chance of complete releif and I am ready for relief!!! Next Friday here I come, no turning back now!!!! In fact, I have no children and in the elavator at the hospital a couple had their newborn they were brining home and I did not get emotional or anything about it and knowing I would not have any of my own.

I'm glad your pre op went well.Hopefully relieved some of your fears. I go for mine Friday,but I don't think I will actually see the doctcr. I think the nurses usually know what they are talking about. when I had my lap the Dr. said 45 min. the nurse said an hour and 15 min. I think it was about an hour.So some where in the middle maybe. My surgery is at 9:30,glad I don't have to wait all day.Sounds like you are ready.

Always believe the nurse LOL. And probably won't be in there the whole time anyway. Sometimes another doctor closes.

Good Luck with your surgery! Mines the day before!! I can't wait to get this over with!
