The dog just tried to murder me. . .

I just have to rant, 8days post op (LAVH) and I had a LONG day of doctors yesterday. So today I am tired and sore, just want to rest. The dog (aprox. 13/14 lbs) jumped and landed. . . Yep right in the sweet spot. OMG I saw sparks, almost passed out. I really hope my hubby can get home quick.

Re: The dog just tried to murder me. . .

I spent the first four or five weeks with a pillow on my stomach. I have a 12 pound Shih Tsu who loves to lay on me. She learned very quickly that the pillow was the boundary. I even slept with a pillow on top of me!

Re: The dog just tried to murder me. . .

I hope that you are feeling better. I own dogs(one is 80 pounds, another is 60 and my "small dog" is 45. I learned pretty quickly to have a barrier to keep between me and them. It makes me cringe reading your post. I think a pillow is a good idea. Sending healing hugs

Re: The dog just tried to murder me. . .

Oh my. I hope you are feeling better. I have a 28 lb cocker spaniel who just loves to cuddle. It's been hard to keep her at bay. I hold my hands up or use a pillow just like fibrart. But when I came in the door the other day she did jump up on me unexpectedly. Her paws reach just above my incision. I thought she was going to claw me open. Freaked me out! Gotta love our "fur babies". Lol.

Re: The dog just tried to murder me. . .

I sure hope you are doing better now! This was one of my fears too. I have a 50lb and 70lb cuddle buddy. I had that happen to me after a c-section.

Hope it is better now!

Re: The dog just tried to murder me. . .

Oh my!!! While walking yesterday, one of the neighborhood dogs decided it necessary to jump on me. I must say, it scarred me more than anything.
Saying a prayer for a full & quick recovery for you!

Re: The dog just tried to murder me. . .

OMG you just lived one of my hyster nightmares: the dogs landing on the sweet spot. We have 2 Jack Russells, bless their hearts. My partner kept them at his house the first 5 nights. Here it is, night #6 since TAH surgery, and I have to keep them both tonight. Sure, they're pooped and sleeping on the love seat right now, but I'm about to retire for the night, and will be armed with three gynormous and perfectly plump pillows across the abdomen. How are you feeling at this point?

Re: The dog just tried to murder me. . .

Quick update. . . It HURTS!!!! I had been guarding, but I had just latex down the the jackrabbit dog bounded up onto the bed before I realized she was in the room.
My lower abdomen hurts. I have a lump that's tender and the skin over it is numb, right next to my belly button. : / Good thing I have a one week follow up Monday.

Re: The dog just tried to murder me. . .

I hope you feel better. It is amazing how quick they can be and end up with you in pain. Have you tried icing it and seeing if that helps? Or else using heat? Sorry to hear you are in so much pain.
