Help! I'm 6 days post-op and my dad just had a massive heart attack!

I am sending hugs and prayers your way. I am sorry this is happening to your dad at a time like this. My elderly father became ill during my recovery and he was three hours away. Fortunately, I had other family who were there and I communicated by phone. I won't say that I didn't feel guilty but I did have to turn loose of the situation and realize that I had to take care of myself first. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able eventually to be there for my dad or my son or anyone else who needed me.

Thanks ladies

You've given me something to think on. I'll let you know what I decide. The doctors just said it will be sometime at the end of the week so I'm having a hard time planning anything since I'm not sure when it is. I would be able to ride up with some of my family and if I'm feeling well I might just do it. I actually cooked breakfast this morning and did the dishes and am waiting to see if it was too much or not. I feel good and nothing is really hurting and I am soooo very thankful.

Kristie, just be prepared for one good day, then maybe a bad day or 2. Sometimes it seemslike I am sore a couple of days after overdoing it rather than right away.

I know you will make the best decision for you. I am hoping and praying for the best.
