The pain, it's back...
Hi there,
I am two weeks post op now. I had been feeling better, just taking motrin for pain. Then came a cold. I was coughing, a little. I could brace for that. But, I was also sneezing alot. Now the left side of my incision is kind of bulging out a bit. I am sure it's not a hernia, it is hard and I cannot push it in. And the pain is terrible, I can hardly walk ten feet without hurting. Stairs had never been a problem for me, and I have had three c-sections along with this TAH. Now the stairs make me hurt too.
I am just frustrated.
Well, any other ladies have this happen? I go to the doc in the AM and we will se what he says.
Thanks for reading.

The pain, it's back...
yep me too.. I still have the lump and its about the size of a silver dollar. I saw the doc and they ct scanned it and MINE was not a hernia, sure hurt like heck though with them pushing, squeezing and whatever else the did..... I thought i was going to pass out from the pain. Next day so my ob/gyn she pushed, pooked and squeezed it, again REALLY BAD PAIN. THEN SHE TOOK A 2 INCH NEEDLE AND TRIED TO ASPERATE ANY FLUIDS. NOPE NOTHING.. SO SHE IT LOOKS LIKE SCAR TISSUE BUT NOT SURE. HAVE TO GO BACK IN 2 WEEKS.
BUT PLEASE GET IT CHECKED CAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW

The pain, it's back...
Hey!
Is the buldge on the end? I had the same issue with the right side of my incision. It was not a huge buldge, but there none the less and oh, did it hurt. Went to the doc and everything was fine. He explained that they use very thick sutures to enforce the edges of the internal stitching, where they pull everything together. He explained it like the gristle on a steak....(I know..yuck. Never eat steak again...), hard and tough while the smoother skin is rubbing against it. If you "overdo" everything gets aggrivated and causes swelling and pain. My issue was I was doing too much, vacuuming, shopping....being a bad girl!!! Since you have been coughing and sneezing, it is probably aggrivated from that.
I hope yours is like mine and nothing serious...best of luck and let us know what the doc says!

Yes mine is on the right side towards the end of the scar. Good to know about the thick suters, you would think my own doctor would have thought about that??? Mine does get bigger and a little smaller..... DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE STEAK COMMENT FOR ME, I LOVE CHICKEN IT DOESN'T HELP EITHER THAT I AM A FLUFFY LARGE WOMAN AND I HAVE A FAT ROLL THAT HANGS OVER AND RUBS ON IT!!! OH YEAH I GUESS SOME PEOPLE SAY SWELLY BELLY, I THINK MINE IS JUST A ROLL... ROTFLMAO

The pain, it's back...
Hi guys,
Thanks for responding. The pain actually started to feel better. I went to the doc and he says that I had alot of scar tissue that he had to cut through and use an extra layer of sutures because of that. The coughing and sneezing just aggrevated it, and by six weeks it will probably dissolve.
Thanks
Lorraine
