10 days since my surgery

hi fellow sisters, it's been 10 days since my surgery and i can't get over how much pain i've experienced!! i had 3 c-sections and nothing prepared me for this!! the dr only gave me 40 percocets HELLO that was gone in 3 1/2 days. he gave me more meds but i still have to pair them with 800 mg of ibuprofin (thank God I found them in my med. chest) my staples were taken out 8 days after surgery and i cried like a baby when they were removed. my dr. couldn't understand why it hurt me so much. the stool softners have been a God send but having a bm is still painful. Is there anyone out there that had their surgery around the same time? if so, how are you feeling??

Marine388 - I'm so sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. What procedure(s) did you have done? My surgery is scheduled for about 10 days from now, so my heart goes out to you while you are going through this. Hang in there!

hi pattyanne04, i had a SAH--kept ovaries and cervix. bikini cut abdominal incision. thanks for your support!!

I am 9 days out and yes pain, more than I expected. I too had a c-section and a couple of previous laparoscopic surgeries and the one nurse at my post op said -- you have had c-section and lap surgeries, you know what to expect then-- BULLCRAPY I did!
Thank goodness for this board. It helped to prepare me. I thought I was going overboard by making up meals and freeziing them but thought better safe than sorry - now, I am so thankful I did because I am still a mess with no energy and lots of pain.
I must say that it IS getting better but I thought it would be much quicker than this.
You're not alone.... I feel your aches.

I too have had 3 c-sections and my Dr was very stingy with pain meds!!! I had a week and a half or percocet worth and when I called for more pain meds I got 12 vicodine!!!! I had to call again and only got 12 more!!! All I can say is thanks goodness I had darvocet and codine pills from before my sugury because I don't think I would have made it!!!! Tomorrow will be my 4 weeks and for the past 6 days I have only taken mortin..yah I'm not sure why some DR's are so stingy with pain meds and some dr's give you as much as you need...
