Uter-less, PMS symptoms?

hi all,

just wondering if anyone has experienced PMS symptoms post op. i had a partial hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. i was feelin' fine these last few weeks, but all of a sudden...yuck!

it began saturday. list of PMS symptoms
1)cravings for SWEET
2)skin itch
3)hair falling out when brushed
4)break out
5)SLEEPLESSNESS
6)sudden anxiety (for no reason!) sigh.

just curious if any of you...have experienced this, and want to know how you deal with it.

If you kept your ovaries, you can continue to have PMS issues. PMS is affected by the change in hormones produced by your ovaries. Some ladies find their symptoms worsen post hysterectomy and some find they improve. In my case, they worsened--likely because I was no longer using birth control pills which were helping with my cycles and PMS.

If you have questions or can't tolerate your symptoms, talk to your doctor about your options! Mine suggested low dose birth control pills or natural progesterone. If you know when you will cycle, taking B6 a few days before you would start having symptoms can help with PMS.

Yes, my pms symptoms seem to worsen after the hyst (but I didn't have the horrible cramps and clots that made me in a much worse mood ;-) But they seemed to settle down after a while.
