Re: 2 months post hysterectomy - when do the stitches dissolve?

Different suture materials dissolve at different times, so it really depends on which one your doctor used for you. You can usually find this information on your surgical report, if you happened to obtain it. Or a call to your doctor should answer your question. My stitches were gone by my 8 week check up, but I didn't see any so not sure when they came out. Hopefully some more ladies will add their experiences.

Re: 2 months post hysterectomy - when do the stitches dissolve?

To give you a little ease, my suture stayed longer! Dr expected it to come out around 3 months, and i did see a few pieces. Week before last i coulda swore i saw another piece, but figured at 5 months no way. Well, last wed had surgery for unresolved pain, dr found adhesions galore, fused ovaries, AND A PIECE OF SUTURE STILL INTACT at 5 MONTHS!!

If you are referring to vaginal cuff, mine were almost gone at 3 months. He used the type that takes 3-6 months to dissolve.
