I'm Home!

Hey everyone,

I got home a few hours ago, and right now am waiting for the Percoset to kick in. The castle was great, all my nurses were very attentive and also very appreciative of the chocolate I brought them.
I kept my ovaries, the dr. said they looked "clean" and healthy. She said my surg was uneventful, with the exception of my uterus. My hys was for prolapse, and when she went in there, she said my uterus was bent completely backward into my colon and was twisted up into my colon. She had a very difficult time getting it out, and almost had to go with an abdominal, but she just made a small cut right above my hair line, and worked on it that way.
I enjoyed my epidural for post-op pain, woke up in NO pain and stayed that way all night long. Didn't get much sleep, due to my roomie vomiting and snoring louder than my hubby! Thank goodness for my Hystersisters and their advice with earplugs!
However....they took out the Foley catheter at 5 the next morning and I couldn't go potty. I could feel my bladder filling up, and they said it was due to the epidural. So..they gave me a "straight cath" and took my epidural out. Put me on Percoset and Motrin. My right leg stayed numb for all that day too, due to the epidural. I still am glad I got it, I would rather have numbness and a catheter than pain.
The pillow police are after me...and I am hurting so I will go lay down. See you on the other side!!

Welcome Home, Princess Cathy!!!

I'm glad you had a good castle stay, and are home and doing well.

Now be a good and get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, take short walks, and no vacuuming, mowing the lawn or bungee jumping!

Best wishes, s, and prayers for a speedy recovery,

Lisa

Glad you are home and on the mend!!!

Remember to drink lots of water & juice, avoid gassy foods, take little walks, and limit your sitting time.

I'm Home!

Thanks for the post only 2 days post-op. For those of us that are going to the castle in a few hours, posts like your are what keep us relaxed and focused.

Best of luck on your continued quick and smooth recovery.

Welcome Home Cathy

Cathy

Welcome home princess! Good to hear all went well with the surgery. Now remember all that princess training, otherwise you will have the pillow police on your tail.

See you in chat, but only when you are up to it and remember the pillow police hang out in there too.

Aren't the epidurals great?

Hugs and best wishes for a smooth recovery.

Regards

I'm Home!

Such good news!

I'm in a holding pattern (no surgery at this time) and watching you ladies come in and go to the castle and then come back is like waiting for the planes to come back from the war. One at a time, you wonderful women check in. Some with big battle stories, other with a mere scratch. It is really great to hear good news. I appreciate your post.

It's over for you and I wish you an uneventful recovery. now.
