Outings planned - going stir crazy

I am 2 weeks post op today and so sick of being inside these 4 walls. I am going for a short walk each day, have been to drop dd off at school (as a passenger dh drove).

Today I phoned my MIL and asked if we could go to her for a coffee (about a 25 minute drive away -again I will be a passenger) - she said come for evening meal so this is what we have agreed. I know when I am there I can sit and relax and even go for a lay down if needed and we won't be home late.

Then on Monday evening it is my reading group which I love - a group of us meet and chat about the book we are reading and just general chitchat, a friend has offered to collect me and bring me home, and again it is just sitting all evening - but does usually finish around 10.30 - that being said I am not going to bed until 11ish anyway.

Do you think these things are ok to do - I NEED to get out so much !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Outings planned - going stir crazy

Your surgery was a couple of days before mine, and I am getting out and about pretty well. It sounds like you are keeping your activities low key, so just keep listening (and obeying ) your body. (Reading group sounds great! I love to read, but have no one to discuss books with).

I agree with Ruby. Just go slow and you should be fine. Have fun at your reading group! I have 6 no maybe 7 books since I have been home. I am avid reader (or rather use to be) so I love all this time tp catch up. I have delved into Ronnie & Nancy which will take me a little longer. If it gets too heavy or I need a break, I have another short book to do in between.Take care & enjoy but be gentle!
