Pain when urinating

I am 5wks post op and I am still have pain when I urinate. I noticed it when I was short of 2wks post op. My dr treated me for a UTI. Some of the pain went away but not all. At my 4wk appt she did a culture and it was negative. Its a sharp pain in the abdomen area near the end of me urinating. The dr says that at my 6wk appt if it hasn't gone away she will send me to a urologist.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Pain when urinating

I just get lots and lots of pressure still. No burning or pain though. I am hoping it will go away soon. Hang in there and maybe ask your Dr for pain killers so maybe you can get your bladder to do what its supposed to do without your brain firing negative signals.

Pain when urinating

I had a urinary infection post op. At my 6 week check up I mentioned the discomfort I had when urinating. They tested again and no infection. He sent me for an IVP (xray test for the urinary tract) and that was normal. I was told it was bladder spasms from the surgery and it will eventually go away. What really helped was trying to use the bathroom more often. The less my bladder was full, the less discomfort if any when I urinated. Talk to your doctor. Good luck.

Hi there again,

Well here I am 6 weeks post op and my hot flashes are getting worse instead of better .. they are even waking me up at night . I went to GNC today and bought black cohash and would like to know if anyone out there has tried it and how long it takes to work. My sleep is horrible I keep waking up at least 4-5 times a night and bought some over the counter sleeping pills and hoping they will work because tomorrow I am going to Penn. to spend 2 weeks with my daughter and new grandaughter and hope that I see anyone out there reply before i leave tomorrow ( Wed.) I would sure appreciate if i hear from you sisters out there. Thanks for listening ......
