6 week appt., vaginal stitches

I am going for my 6 week appt tomorrow ( late, my surgeon was on vacation) he mentioned at my one week visit that he'd remove vaginal stitches at that appt. I haven't heard of anyone here having that one, don't they dissolve?

I thought so too. Sounds kinda scary. I was told all stitches would dissolve. Keep us posted. I go for my 6 wk follow up next Wed. Good luck

Sounds different than most, but I guess anything is possible. Mine are disolvable and last week at my appt she said thinks were healing good and the stitches would start disolving this week or next. I'm off all restrictions as of today too. Yay!! Keep us posted.

Mine came out and I found them when I wiped like during week 2.

9 weeks and mine have not dissolved! They are stabbing me bad!

I had my six week checkup yesterday and my stitches haven't dissolved. Docmsaidmitmwillntake another two weeks.
He didnt even consider removing them.

Well, now I feel foolish! There were stitches, but they are dissolvable, nothing to remove. Had my 8 week appt and he did a quick look at my vagina and released me to my regular gyne!!!

YAY!! Congrats on the release!! It's a good feeling isn't it!! And no need to feel foolish, one never knows when it comes to all these medical procedures, they can be very confusing and seems each Dr does things just a wee bit different than the next!

Maybe by removing he means wiping them out. By my 6 week post op appointment I hadn't seen any stitches that had fallen out. When he checked me he said they were all dissolved and just sitting there. He got a large looking qtip and swabbed my cuff and removed them. Completely painless. Hope that's what your doc meant.
